In tank storage, it is not only about safety, but also about reducing emissions, product loss, and operational costs. Pressure vacuum protection plays a bigger role in this than is often realized.
With the new GROTH® 12 Series, Groth Corporation introduces a new generation of Pressure Vacuum Relief Valves (PVRVs) designed for higher efficiency, lower emissions, and a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
As Groth’s exclusive distributor in The Netherlands, Van der Ende Valve Services supplies these next-generation valves directly from stock to customers and distributors throughout the EMEA network.
Why selecting the right PVRV is becoming increasingly important
In many storage tank applications, unnecessary emissions and product losses occur when pressure vacuum relief valves open earlier than required. This can result in increased VOC emissions, higher product losses, and rising operational costs.
The new GROTH® 12 Series has been developed to structurally reduce these losses. Thanks to ultra-tight sealing and operating pressure up to 90% of the set pressure — exceeding the API 2000 standard — the tank remains sealed longer without compromising safety.
The result:
- Reduced emissions
- Reduced product loss (hydrocarbon losses)
- Lower Total Cost of Ownership
Up to 65% emission reduction
According to Groth’s technical comparison, proper PVRV selection can significantly reduce emissions.
Compared to a free vent, the GROTH® 12 Series can achieve up to 65% emission reduction. Even compared to conventional valve solutions, up to 50% additional emission reduction is possible.
This makes the technology highly relevant for industries focusing on:
- emission reduction
- energy efficiency
- lower operational costs
- sustainability of existing installations
More than emission reduction
Besides reducing emissions, the 12 Series also provides technical advantages for the process itself. The new generation of valves features:
- improved vacuum inlet
- increased flow capacity
- full lift at 10% above set pressure
- LRQA-certified capacity
- compact and efficient construction
In certain applications, this may even allow for selecting a smaller valve size, creating additional benefits in installation efficiency and cost control.
Directly available from stock in The Netherlands
As Groth’s European Distribution Center, Van der Ende Valve Services stocks 10% Overpressure Relief Valves. In addition, valves can be set, tested, and certified in our workshop prior to delivery.
This allows us to combine:
- fast availability
- technical expertise
- GARD support
- revision, testing, and certification under one roof
All with one goal: ensuring a continuously smooth process for our customers.
